“I learned more about the people in the room than I have ever learned in any other networking event and by the end of it, I felt as if I had been attending for years!”
– Sean Thomas Seddon
“Whilst there is a structure to the meetings (which I like) they are very relaxed and ensure that the focus is on connecting, not an endless torrent of sales pitches.” – Missy Dunning |
“A fantastic way to meet like minded business owners in the local area. I’ve been going for about 6 months now, and always see new faces and have interesting speakers. ”
– Joe Cullen
Informal, informative and info…credible
No sales pitches or rigid structures. Just an “out of hours” opportunity to meet like-minded people. Learn new stuff. And build your business network with people you actually like.
A good ol’ fashioned in-person meet up
When the world’s moved online, and business interactions are all held over video calls and messengers, PUB Networking is here to keep you meeting in person. So you can form genuine connections with people who care about their business. And have fun with them too.
Here’s how it works…
Monthly meet ups
One event in a town or city near you – every month. (And you don’t have to wake up early for it!). No awkward small talk, forced sales pitches or stuffiness. Just a casual get together with easy-going business-folk.
In a Powered Up Business (PUB) venue
A “special” venue with “confidence boosting”, over 18, spirituous and fermented drinks on tap… to make business introductions a little less daunting (and fun).
One (pre-organised) speaker
Each event has a pre-organised speaker. Usually a regular attendee of the meeting. They share valuable – non-salesy – insights that you can use to benefit your business. With no strings attached.
No subscription or membership
Everyone attends a PUBNetworking event because they want to. There are no contracts, ongoing obligations or memberships. Just rock up with your e-ticket each month and you’re good to go.
Good eggs only
The only thing we ask of you, other than having an e-ticket, is you keep an open mindset and respect other attendees. We’re all here for a good time – and a long time.
“The best bit about in-person networking is the unexpected wins…”
“My first PUBNetworking event single-handedly kickstarted my freelance business.
It was just before “lockdown” started, and I hadn’t been in business long. At an Ipswich event, I met an attendee (who I’m still friends with), and he introduced me to someone he knew. That new business contact then partnered with me – and has since provided a substantial amount of work.
Months later (during “lockdown”), I got a random phone call from another attendee who also wanted my help. That, too, has been a very rewarding working relationship.
Both contacts have, directly or indirectly, helped me grow my business – either through direct work or as case studies to win more projects.
I know it could just be luck, but I can trace most of my recent work back to the spider’s web of connections I made from those initial interactions. For me, unexpected wins like this are the best bit about in-person networking. You can connect in ways you can’t online.
At the time, I was happy just to meet other people. But I’ve gained more than I ever imagined from it.”

Close your laptop. And chat your socks off.
Do away with the teas, coffees and usual networking formalities. And instead, come and enjoy a mid-week social with other like-minded business-folk. It beats sitting on a laptop at your dining room table on a Tuesday night.
And before you say…
“I don’t know who’s going to turn up…”
- That’s the best bit. We’ve had dog groomers, confidence coaches, chauffeurs, website designers, cybersecurity experts all in the same room at the same time. The intimate mix of businesses is what keeps the events so interesting.
“I don’t know how to promote myself…”
- And you don’t need to. You’ll have a chance to introduce yourself and explain what you do with some of our quirky ice-breakers.
“I don’t know what to say or do at networking events…”
- We’ll help you there. Whilst our events are relaxed, there is a loose structure to keep things engaging and take the pressure off you thinking of things to say.
“I don’t want to waste my time with the “wrong” people…”
- Nobody is forced to attend. There are no memberships or ongoing commitments. So everyone is there off their own back. And wants to meet other people.
“I feel uncomfortable in large groups of people…”
- Fortunately, we average 18 people per event. And the highest we’ve had is 25. Our groups are small and friendly, so you can get to know everyone better.
Who’s eligible?
Anyone and everyone. No matter what your business, role, or experience, you’re good to come along. And if you want to, you can bring others along too. Just make sure they’re as fun as you! (And they have a ticket)

Laugh at bad jokes. Win new business.
There’s no pressure to do anything other than have a good time. Sometimes that’s easier with a small beer or glass of wine in your hand. (It certainly makes our bad jokes a little more bearable…). And when there’s no stress to sell yourself, you can relax and make better connections with people looking to do the same thing.

Escape the usual networking formalities, and…
Come to a networking event you enjoy
Make great connections. Learn new stuff. And smile all the way through. All for…

“I would definitely recommend PUB Networking to business owners in Ipswich looking to network in a very relaxed environment and maybe even over a beer or 3. Every event each month brings a different presentation from local entrepreneurs sharing their knowledge and experience to the group. Milo Dunne is always happy to answer any questions about the events and is very welcoming to newcomers.” – John Parnell |
“Have attended a few of these now and thoroughly enjoy each one. Always a good talk which is different every time thanks to the variety of attendees and their expertise. Also is never boring, always a few laughs and the hosts Tony and Milo are always creative with puns and plays on words which I always appreciate. Next talk involves Mega Drive games so I’m excited.” – Chris Dixon |
“Powered Up Business network events are great evenings. informal, friendly and informative. it’s always a great social gathering too” – Jonah West |
“I’ve added several of the Norwich PUBNetworking events now and presented at one too. I found it to be very welcoming right from the first meeting. Whilst there is a structure to the meetings (which I like) they are very relaxed and ensure that the focus is on connecting, not an endless torrent of sales pitches. The presentations provide value, insight, inspiration etc and I love the variety of topics covered. I can highly recommend this network, whether you’re a seasoned networker looking to make genuine connections to get to know local business people or a newbie who’s perhaps a little apprehensive and unsure what to expect. I can ensure you’ll be made to feel right at home!” – Missy Dunning |
“I have attended virtually all of these meetings since Milo started them up so there must be something good about them Relaxed and welcoming and always a good laugh due to the ‘less formal’ approach. Well hosted, too, by Milo or Tony. And there have been some pretty good presentations as well. See you at the next one! Cheers!” – Chris Ball |
“I went to the launch of the Bristol event last night, I really enjoyed it. Met lots of new people. liked the fact it was relaxed but still had some structure and Milo did a really informative talk on linkedin Marketing. I’ll be back again for the next one” – Robert Leat |
“Fabulous networking event! Great people, new connections and informative presentation – have taken away so much from this event. Count us in next time!” – Jacqui Pope |
