A frustrating evening, but a good one!

Thanks to those who came along on Monday night. We were expecting 14 and had 5. This, I feel, added to last month, where we expected 20 and had 12, compels me to say this…

Yes, it was pouring down, and I am sure one of you no-shows was genuinely ill, maybe even two of you! However, when so many do not turn up, it just shows flakiness. Especially as only one person let me know they couldn’t make it, and they did that some time ago, and asked for a transfer. They also aren’t included in the expected 14.

It isn’t fair to the team, it isn’t fair to the speaker who had spent time creating a presentation and expects to deliver to more than 4 others, and it isn’t fair to those who have made an effort to attend.

Trying to build something new in an area is never easy, so please, in future, if you book, turn up! If you have an actual, genuine reason you can’t, then at least let us know!

To those who did turn up, you should have your free tickets to next month now, as I processed them earlier.

Anyway, enough of my moan! Despite the low numbers, I have received some great feedback on the evening and have been told that it was still a very good night. Big thanks to Adam for running the show on his own and making sure it was still enjoyable!

Biggest thanks of all go to our speaker, Peter Reynolds, for his talk on how to sell to different personality types. I always recommend that business owners get proper sales training. It is well worth the investment, so get in touch with Peter at Consultative Selling Solutions – he’s a great guy and knows his stuff.

The question that went along with the introduction this month was, “Who was your childhood hero?” The winner was Richard Penrose although I don’t know what his answer was! I’m sure it was someone great like Mr T or Pat Sharp. Richard would win a free ticket to next month but he’s already getting one and he is likely to be speaker next month so will be set for a while…
